Things have started to get out of hand very quickly with iPhone concepts over the last few months, so we decided to slow down our coverage of them. As a matter of fact, I don’t believe we’ve published one iPhone concept since last june !

The design is directly inspired from the iPad mini and I must say it looks gorgeous. If the next iPhone looks anything like this, I’m sold! I suggest you don’t pay much attention to the dream specs but rather focus on the design of the this iPhone concept.

Apple Inc. may unveil iPhone 6 at a top end price of Rs 60,335

The finished Apple Inc. iPhone 6 will most likely look different, but it's interesting to see how Smart Bezel could work.

Apple used to be the clear smartphone leader with its iconic iPhone series thanks to a combination of outstanding hardware and software to match. Now, Android-based phones are arguably as good, if not better, with the likes of the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4, not necessarily in that order, giving the once-unmatchable Apple a run for its money.

Apple, needless to say, is not sitting back on its haunches, and promises a rivetting fightback with products that promise the moon.

The current position in the fight revolves around the smashing hit that Samsung Galaxy S4 has become and everyone is waiting for what Apple will do to its next in line smartphone – the so-called iPhone 6. Here is a peak at the dates and the direction Apple may well have taken to beat rivals.

While the new model is being referred to as iPhone 6, it had briefly surfaced some time ago as the iPhone Math - the screen is reportedly 4.8 inches. Also, with HTC One having come up with an outstanding camera, iPhone too is playing catch up and is reportedly targetting trotting out a special one of its own.

The glimpse into the working of Apple Inc was given by Citi Research analyst Glen Yeung who revealed that a 'big-screen iPhone 6' is likely to be launched in first quarter of 2014.

Apple has been known for its high quality screens and it's going to be interesting to see what it can do with the iPhone 6. According to Apple's definition of a Retina display, it's one where you can't see the individual pixels when used at a normal distance. In practice, by Apple's definition, it means upping the resolution on a Retina screen is pointless. That doesn't mean that Apple won't simply increase resolution to Full HD, in order to keep up with the competition, but moving to a larger screen to justify more resolution makes more sense.

Polycarbonate 4.5-inch iPhone coming in 2014 for $330?

A new rumor popped up today regarding a new iPhone, however it doesn’t seem like it will be the next iPhone, only one that will come someday. That someday, which according to the rumor is sometime in 2014, will hold a new polycarbonate iPhone with a 4.5-inch display. According to Macotakara, the blog responsible for the rumor, Apple’s plans for a cheaper iPhone have been delayed until next year, and that device will become reality with this rumor. The polycarbonate shell has been rumored to be the same material Apple once used in the old “white MacBook” that was eventually discontinued. Later on in the rumor it is speculated that this iPhone will cost $330 off contract to compete in emerging markets. Rumors of a cheaper iPhone have been circulating since the original iPhone in 2007, however it finally appears that Apple may be in the position to release one in the next year or so.

Apple iPhone 6 is on the way.

Apple Inc.  will release an iPhone 6 some time in the next year. The smart phone is the talk of much of the internet already, with users posting concept art and wish lists on many different websites. The next generation iPhone will probably be the best one that Apple has ever made, but there’s still very little known about it.

Rumors: Apple iPhone 6

Best Buy has recently dropped their price for the Apple iPhone 5 by $50, which has led many to speculate that a new version of the iPhone may well be on the way very soon. How soon? Well, the most logical platform where Apple can launch their latest version of the iPhone and fit the timeline that is being thrown around is the WWDC 2013 that is going to start on June 10^th.

It is almost a done deal that the new phone will be the Apple iPhone 5s and not the Apple iPhone 6, though according to insider reports, Apple may be readying to introduce two different devices to the general public in 2013. The second device could be anything ranging from the iPhone Mini; the cheap iPhone targeted for markets like China and Africa, or the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 6 is expected to be a complete overhaul from the old look of the previous iPhones, featuring a new design and aesthetic. A recently released concept video showed a model which featured a curved glass display and also had 3D cameras which were capable of capturing dual images for much more detail and realism. Apple’s patent registration record is also indicative of the fact the Apple may indeed be playing around with both of these ideas, though whether they will end up being on the final product is still up in the air.  The curved glass display is one of the last projects that Steve Jobs shepherded at Apple and so it has had a lot of time to be ready and a good godfather.

The video also showed that the iPhone 6 may feature a larger 4.8 – inch display and a metal design, this may be due to the fact that many customers are flocking to smartphones of other companies like Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC One due to their larger displays; the iPhone 5 has a 4 – inch display. Other possible upgrades include a higher resolution of 754 x 1296, a higher pixel count and a stronger processor and battery.

But, these are all rumors till the moment that Apple provides us with official confirmation. Any new Apple product is highly anticipated by its huge fan base and the iPhone 6 and 5S are no exceptions to this as well, and now with the rumors of a design overhaul for the iPhone 6, the anticipation level just went up a notch. Expect non-stop speculation about these phones features until their release.

You’ll want this edgy iPhone 6 concept to be real.

• The concept features a 4.5-inch widescreen displays (754 x 1296 at 333ppi), an 8-megapixel front Facetime camera, a 20.2-megapixel rear camera with 2K video sensor, RAW image support, 24fps Video Capture and more. While some of the specs seem a bit farfetched for such a device, this is of course just a concept.

iPhone 6 concept renderings are 10-a-penny these days but every now and then something rather cool pops up like this multi-coloured aluminium based design, which comes in a wide range of colours including red and baby blue.    

The form is a lot squarer than previous iPhone designs and it also looks much thinner and flatter. The designer claims its aluminium material would also ensure that it is much lighter too.

Even before the iPhone 5S is out, analysts are talking about the next iPhone 6 for 2014 and this is what they have to say.

Last year's iPhone 5 was an evolution over the previous iPhones and this might be the case with the upcoming iPhone 5S as well. The new 5S is reported to come with multiple color options (taking cues from Nokia it seems), an upgraded quad-core Apple A7 SoC, a higher resolution 13 MP camera as well as a fingerprint scanner (if the technology is ready and working on time). However, these features don't really excite because the basic package will still remain the same, i.e. the design and the display size and even the screen resolution will most probably remain untouched.

With the release of iPhone 5, Apple made it clear that user comfort was far more important to them than screen size. Whether you agree with their philosophy or not, I set out to increase not only the height of the display, but the width as well while still following Apple’s design and usability requirements. The iPhone 6 concept maintains the exact physical dimensions of the iPhone 5 but the display has been increased from 640 x 1136 to 754 x 1296.
