Best Buy has recently dropped their price for the Apple iPhone 5 by $50, which has led many to speculate that a new version of the iPhone may well be on the way very soon. How soon? Well, the most logical platform where Apple can launch their latest version of the iPhone and fit the timeline that is being thrown around is the WWDC 2013 that is going to start on June 10th.
It is almost a done deal that the new phone will be the Apple iPhone 5s and not the Apple iPhone 6, though according to insider reports, Apple may be readying to introduce two different devices to the general public in 2013. The second device could be anything ranging from the iPhone Mini; the cheap iPhone targeted for markets like China and Africa, or the iPhone 6.
The iPhone 6 is expected to be a complete overhaul from the old look of the previous iPhones, featuring a new design and aesthetic. A recently released concept video showed a model which featured a curved glass display and also had 3D cameras which were capable of capturing dual images for much more detail and realism. Apple’s patent registration record is also indicative of the fact the Apple may indeed be playing around with both of these ideas, though whether they will end up being on the final product is still up in the air. The curved glass display is one of the last projects that Steve Jobs shepherded at Apple and so it has had a lot of time to be ready and a good godfather.
The video also showed that the iPhone 6 may feature a larger 4.8 – inch display and a metal design, this may be due to the fact that many customers are flocking to smartphones of other companies like Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC One due to their larger displays; the iPhone 5 has a 4 – inch display. Other possible upgrades include a higher resolution of 754 x 1296, a higher pixel count and a stronger processor and battery.
But, these are all rumors till the moment that Apple provides us with official confirmation. Any new Apple product is highly anticipated by its huge fan base and the iPhone 6 and 5S are no exceptions to this as well, and now with the rumors of a design overhaul for the iPhone 6, the anticipation level just went up a notch. Expect non-stop speculation about these phones features until their release.
